Speaking is often faster than typing. The real question is not whether voice works, but what you want it to produce.

A first draft typed slowly costs two things: time, and working memory. While your fingers hunt for keys, you forget the next sentence, rephrase, and censor yourself. Dictation reduces that friction: you say it, the text appears, and you keep the thread.

But dictation does not make your ideas better. It makes them easier to get out. If you have no clear idea, you will simply produce vague text faster.
