Full-course lesson V — Consuming information

Preview

The modern problem is not only that there is too much information. It is that your environment is designed to keep you consuming, even when that does not help your work, your thinking, or your rest.

Information overload is not a moral failure or a lack of willpower. It is what happens when there are no filters, no limits, and no output logic.

In an information-rich world, attention becomes the scarce resource. And when attention is scarce, many systems optimize capture before usefulness: that is how overload gets manufactured. Some already imagine the next step: the day the brain becomes hackable.
